PULMONARY FIBROSIS


What is Pulmonary Fibrosis?


It is a chronic lung disease where lung tissue becomes scarred and stiff, making breathing difficult.


Causes:


Idiopathic (Unknown cause)


Long-term exposure to toxins (dust, chemicals, smoke)


Autoimmune diseases (RA, Scleroderma)


Infections or chronic lung inflammation


Signs & Symptoms:


Shortness of breath


Persistent dry cough


Fatigue & weakness


Chest discomfort


Unexplained weight loss


Management:


Medications to slow progression


therapy for easier breathing


Pulmonary rehab for better lung function


Prevention & Care:


Avoid smoking & exposure to lung irritants


Stay active with gentle exercises


Maintain a healthy diet


Practice deep breathing techniques
